Providing focused recreational, social and educational programs, projects and activities to the Youth in a safe and stable environment.

Crossroads Teen Centre - Empangeni

At the end of 2015, Crossroads had 128 registered teenagers and did over 150 interventions. Currently in 2016, Crossroads has over 200 registered teenagers and have already done over 200 interventions of which most consist of tutorial sessions and other educational and developmental programmes.

Due to the big increase, we were forced to expand our Computer Room in January & reach out for more tutors to help with study work. We are excited about the growth and thankful to all those who makes our work possible.

So far, we have been reaching out to teenagers by doing educational programmes such as tutorials and computer lessons. We have been doing plenty of Bible Studies where we have seen teens come to salvation & we have focused greatly on the Grade 12 students with regard to Career Guidance. With most of our programmes, we have reached out to our community who either donate funds, material, or their time and skills. Our teenagers benefit from these programmes a great deal.

If you would like more details, please feel free to contact us or check out our Newsletter. We are currently working on a Blog where we can post more personal stories about our teens as well as a Programmes tab on our Website so that you can see online a summary of each program we offer and ins and outs of the Centre.

Thanks & God Bless

Dezi Laatz, Centre Manager

It has been a busy time at Crossroads Teen Centre with the Centre Manager & Program Manager contributing to Crossroads in making it a safe haven for the dozens of teens who consider Crossroads a home away from home.

We would like to thank all our sponsors and partners who continue to make a tangible contribution in the lives of our teens. We would also like to reach out to those that could be possible sponsors. Our Centre has increased in attendance to over 200 teens! We are extremely excited about this but along with the increase in teens, come the increase in demand for expansion and income. We require the help of others to keep our doors open to these teens that come from all over the City of Umhlatuze.

We would like to extend our hand to you and ask you to walk with us in the development of responsible young adults who can effect change in their environment.

Crossroads has also been using Forgood to indicate specific needs that the centre & teens might have. Take a look at the link for those needs!  https://www.forgood.co.za/Cause/Index/Crossroads-Teen-Centre

Remember to ‘Dare to Decide’

The HEART of Crossroads
Big things have happened at Crossroads during 2015. As we celebrated Easter with our teens, we realized the need for Crossroads staff to connect with the teens & get to the things of their hearts. With funding being limited, Crossroads has been trying to do the programs by reaching out to volunteers & using the little funding available for the most important needs that cannot do without it. The process of connecting with our teens has been extraordinary for Crossroads the last few months as we have seen teens grow enormously when it comes to their faith in Christ. We have had teens who have never been in church before & now even attend the youth during the week. We have teens who debated about what to believe in and with the guidance the staff has been giving, our teens have a better understand of God's Word. We have teens who struggle with issues at home & just by sharing, have experienced the care and comfort others have to offer. We have seen their skills, we have heard their voices, we have experienced their rhythm & we have seen love grow.
